Dear Parents/ Carers,

The ski season is fast approaching and it is time to start thinking about what you should be doing to prepare for the school ski trip to Austria. I have uploaded a Parents' Information pack with all the information you will require for the forthcoming trip. If there are any questions you have that are not answered on the site please email me and we will put the information in the FAQ section.

I would ask that you pay particular attention to the details regarding passports (which must have at least 6 months left from the beginnning on the trip), EHIC cards and pocket money.

All emergency contact numbers are taken off SIMS so you may need to check that the school have your correct contact details if you have changed mobile numbers recently or moved house. We will also be using the School Coms system to inform you of our safe arrival and our expected time of arrival on our return to school. It is vital we have the correct numbers not only for this but also should we need to contact you in an emergency.

Can I also remind you that under no circumstances are students allowed to bring their mobile phones with them on the trip. They will have access to pay phones in resort and we will be uploading a daily blog on this site for you to see what we have been up to and send any messages. If you have any questions regarding this please call me at school.

I would also like to stress the importance of booking some dry slope lessons for your child if they have not skied before. This will save them at least two days on snow and enable them to progress at a much quicker pace whilst in resort. Local dry slopes are Ipswich and Brentwood and both offer excellent lessons for beginners. Alternatively you could visit the indoor Snow Dome at Milton Keynes where they can learn on real snow. We have provided some of the relevant links here.

We all know how fast our teenagers grow and so we are setting up a classifieds page on the site for you to sell your second hand ski gear. If you wish any items to be included on this page you will need to email us the details of what you wish to sell with a picture if you wish, price and include a contact number so prospective buyers can call you direct.

Lastly with Christmas fast approaching we have included a kit list in the information so you may want to add items onto Christmas lists.

The final itinerary for the trip will be published as soon as we have the details from the company so keep an eye on the site for any updates. We will also be having meetings with your children to inform them of any other details they may need to know.
