Below are the final details regarding the forthcoming ski trip to Austria.
If you have not already handed in your child's EHIC card to the office this needs to be done before our departure day. We must have your child's EHIC card for them to come on this trip.
Students need to arrive at school on Friday 10th February at 9:45pm for a 10:30pm departure. On arrival at school students will need to take their luggage to the coach and watch it being loaded. They will need to hand in their pocket money, clearly labelled with their name and amount enclosed in an envelope, to Mr Burge. They will also need to hand their passport to their Ferry Group leader (details to follow). All medication will need to be given to Miss Bonny and Miss Wilson clearly named and in a bag. Don't forget to pack a pair of ski socks, ski gloves and DVDs for the journey in your hand luggage. You will also need to pack enough food to last you until the Saturday evening as our first meal at the hotel is evening meal Sat 11th Feb. It would be a good idea to give your child a small amount of Euros to use on the journey should we stop at service stations en route.
Students must wear their Notley Ski Hoodie for both the outward and return journey. All students must be in school for the full day on the Friday.

All times on the itinerary are subject to change especially those for our return journey. As a rule we usually arrive at the docks in Calais very early Sat morning and catch an earlier ferry. You will need to be available to collect your child any time from 8 am onwards on Saturday morning!
On our arrival in resort you will be contacted via text on the School Comms system to let you know we have all arrived safely. You will be notified using the same system giving the time of our arrival back at Notley on Saturday 18th February. All parents will need to ensure their mobiles are switched on on the morning of Saturday 18th February to guarantee you are at school on time for our arrival home.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind all parents that their child must have a ski helmet and will not be allowed to ski without one under any circumstances.
In terms of Essex Health and Safety requirements I would also like to remind you that students are not able to take mobile phones on the trip. You have emergency contact numbers for us and the students will have opportunities to use public telephones. Students who fail to comply with this request will be dealt with severely.
It is standard practice by any local education authority to approve any tour operator being used by schools. We are using the Vienna based 'The Austrian Experience' again this year. It is our duty to inform parents that should any unfortunate event arise where it was felt necessary to take legal action against the company this would be done through the Austrian Courts. The company has full and comprehensive liability and damages insurance and has been approved by Essex, Norfolk, Cambridge and Newcastle Education Authorities.
